'The Princess and the Frog' riverboat extravaganza coming to WDW Oct. 26 E-mail

The LA Times is reporting that Walt Disney World will be adding a new musical celebration beginning just before Halloween and lasting through the Christmas holiday season. The limited run of the show is not unusual for a new movie tie-in, but if the movie -- Disney's long-awaited return to traditional animation -- does well we can probably expect an extension or a replacement with something more elaborate and permanent.

The jazz-infused "riverboat extravaganza" will debut at Disney World on Oct. 26 and Disneyland on Nov. 6. Both shows will run through Jan. 3.

Tied to the upcoming "The Princess and the Frog" hand-drawn animated movie, Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee will feature a procession of jazzy musicians and performers parading through New Orleans Square at Disneyland and Frontierland at Disney World.
